occupancy permits and safety/security

On August 26, David Lam Campus
employees may obtain orientation
packages at the new Bookstore on the first
floor. The package will include keys, a
phone directory, parking instructions and
basic campus information. An employee
orientation is scheduled for August 27.

Moving Personal Effects
Employees’ personal effects will be
moved on or before August 23, for
delivery to the David Lam Campus by
August 26. If you need moving services,
please ensure your effects are securely
boxed and labeled with your name and
assigned room number. Boxes are now
available from Shipping & Receiving. If
you have not already done so, please send
a memo to Facilities Services requesting a
specific pick-up date and location.

At high noon on March 8, 1982, a marching band serenaded Douglas College
students, faculty, staff and administrators as they moved from the McBride Campus
to 700 Royal Avenue in New Westminster. One of the items making The Great Trek
was this cedar sign, which remained in the concourse for years before finding its
final “resting place” as a bench-top.

Another Great Trek for Douglas College will take place this month, as almost 200
full- and part-time employees make the big move out to the new David Lam Campus
in Coquitlam. For a list of who’s going where, see page 4.
